A Call and Response
design in collaboration with Platform, 2019A Call and Response, here, consists of fragments from a movement-based project at the MCA Chicago. There, Fernandes asks visitors to answer a “call to movement” and participate in a collectively generated performance alongside professional dancers in the MCA’s Commons and Terrace. These fragments, here, represent graphic elements installed at the MCA, and digital elements which guests are encouraged to interact with on site. All are a series of prompts to invite movement, participation and exploration around the ways our appearances and actions convey social meaning.
