Lucy Sante

In the summer of 2017 I bought a used ledger (accounts from 1947-48) from a junk shop in Penn Yan, New York. When I got home I started collecting pictures from magazines in it, organized by subject (cigarette packs, faces, wheels) and these agglomerations slowly turned into collages. I had made collages consistently through my youth, but hadn't made one in almost three decades. I had, however, schlepped my image hoard from apartment to apartment and house to house for that many years. The book is nearly full now.
